I love the phrase that Isaiah used to describe the Savior, “mighty God.” The phrase “mighty God” best translates out “conquering warrior.” This mighty God of ours cannot be defeated, and nothing is impossible for Him. He is a God of amazing victories. Have you ever thought about this amazing, mighty God? This mighty God created the world out of nothing and man from the dust of the earth. This mighty God did the impossible – He parted the Red Sea and saved His people. In a desert without food or water this mighty God sent manna from heaven and provided water from a rock. This mighty God caused Gideon with an army of 300 to defeat an army of thousands. This mighty God enabled a teenage shepherd boy named David to defeat a warrior named Goliath with a small rock and a sling shot. This mighty God shut the mouths of hungry lions to save Daniel from the lions’ den. This mighty God caused the storms to stop, fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish. This mighty God caused the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, the dead to be raised. This mighty God conquered death and walked out alive from a sealed up tomb. Nothing is impossible for this mighty God. Are you feeling helpless and hopeless before a giant of worry, fear, addiction, death, or evil? Remember, nothing is impossible for this mighty God. God has a plan for your life today and forever. He will make His plan work for your good.
