The Question

READ: Matthew 16:13-16
It’s interesting that you can hang around Jesus and miss knowing who He is. I came across a website designed for young people entitled “WIJ2U?” It stands
for “What is Jesus to you?” That is a really good question. How would you answer that question?
One day when Jesus was talking to His disciples, He asked them, “Who do you say that I am?” That is a personal question and demands a personal answer. Not ‘who does your preacher say that I am’ or your momma or your daddy or your Sunday school teacher or your best friend or your husband or your wife, but you. Jesus wants to know, “Who do you say that I am?” WIJ2U – Who is Jesus to you? You can know Jesus as a great teacher; you can know Him as a good example, a Holy man, or a miracle worker. All of that is fine and good, but it is when you love Jesus with all of your being, when you receive Him as Savior of your life and live for Him and not for yourself—that’s when you find the best in this life. When Jesus asks you, “Who do you say that I am?” how do you answer that question? How you answer it will determine the quality of your life on this earth and it will determine your eternity.
