Such a simple verse, but could truly transform our world if we put it into practice. What if we did good things for other people every time we had the opportunity?
Well, as the Missions Pastor at Frazer I get to witness our people doing good things all the time. Here are just a few examples over the past few weeks:
Disaster Relief
Through the generous donations from people at our Atlanta High Campus and Pike Road campus, we were able to help several families get new roofs for their trailers that were damaged by a tornado. We also had men from our disaster relief team help remove a tree that had fallen on someone’s house. The tree was huge and required several days of work, but they got the job done!
Red Bird, Kentucky
We received word that the Red Bird ministry in rural Kentucky was very low on donations for their community store, which helps low-income families. Several people from our church collected donations. We filled up an entire truck full of clothes, furniture, and appliances. Then our volunteers drove the truck all the way to Kentucky to deliver the items.
In Christ’s Way
Another couple in our church had received some financial blessings over the past few months and so they felt called by God to give a very generous donation to our In Christ’s Way ministry. The money was then used to help several families in our local community.
I’m so thankful for the generous people in our church who give their time and resources to help others. I’m so thankful to be a part of a church that “seeks to do good whenever we have the opportunity.”
