We recently cleaned out some “stuff” that had accumulated in a storage space. Wow, where does it all come from? The world teaches us to evaluate our worth based on how much “stuff” we own, as if life could be measured in full storage bins. What do we really own? Nothing. What determines our true worth? Jesus! Everything we have is a gift from God, and one day we will give an account for everything, every person, every talent and even every opportunity that we have been given from our Father. On that day our “worth” won’t be based on our “stuff,” but on the value of the priceless blood of Jesus that God paid for us.
When we keep that perspective, it’s easier to let go of “stuff” and share with others. Giving helps us experience freedom and joy. The “stuff” we give away brings so much more joy to us than the stuff we store away! As we love God and love others, we can share with Godly wisdom all the stuff God has entrusted to us. One day when we are before our Father, there will be no regrets for Godly giving, then we will hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
