Kindness is one of the most basic requirements of followers of the Lord. We are to love kindness and extend it even those very different than us and those who do not deserve it just as God has poured out his loving kindness on us when we’ve been undeserving. Loving kindness is the door that opens the way for amazing transformations of God to occur. In the book, “Same Kind of Different as Me”, a story is told of a homeless person by the name of Denver Moore. His transformation came about because of the kindness of Debbie Hall. And these were his words. “I was a captive in the Devil’s prison. That was easy for Miss Debbie to see. But I got to tell you many folks had seen me behind bars in that prison for more than 30 years and they just walked by and kept their keys in their pockets and left me locked up. But Miss Debbie was different. She’d seen me behind them bars and reached way down in her pocket and pulled out the key God gave her and used one to unlock the prison and set me free. She’s the onliest person that ever loved me enough not to give up on me and I praise God today that I can say that I am a changed man.” The key was loving kindness he never expected. That’s the power of loving kindness. No matter what you do today, just be kind. You might be amazed to see God work a miracle.
