Welcome to Frazer’s new weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Inner City Evangelism Ministry (ICE)
A special time of outreach in Gibbs Village earlier this month provided new already-packed backpacks for 76 children and collected 104 cans of food for the local food pantry. ICE invited all school age children to bring one canned good in exchange for a backpack filled with school supplies. The gathering provided great fellowship and food and we’re told the children are always excited knowing they get to help someone else and to start the new school year with all the supplies they need in a brand new backpack!
Local Missions
This is a letter sent to the Family Sunshine Center recently from a recipient of the services at the center. Frazer UMC supports the Sunshine Center through local missions:
“Sometimes in our lives God will put road blocks in our paths, not to watch us fall; rather how we will rise from falling. He has the most marvelous ways of turning our worst tragedies into His greatest triumphs. During these trials, He graciously brings people such as yourself to those of us who have perhaps fallen on our face but are still trying to move forward, for this I am very grateful. I thank God for people such as yourself who care enough and give of themselves to help improve the lives of others. Thank you for your love, compassion and concern which you have shown me. May God bless you and keep you forever in His loving arms. God Bless You! C.”
Youth Worship Arts
It’s a new year for the Youth Worship Arts team. Close to 30 new students joined the YWA for its first practice of the new season. There is still time to join-practices are held every Sunday in the JEMAC at 3pm.
Followership
The Followership team is sending out special recognition and thanks to a key volunteer, Donna Russell. The team credits Donna with helping them make their printing deadline. As one team member said, “Donna has worked side by side with us for 3 weeks printing, folding, stapling, counting, sweating, laughing and all around working with us during our “busy season”, she is certainly a God-send!”Be sure to join your Frazer family at the Fall Kickoff Tailgate Gathering Wednesday, September 3rd. Our pastors will preview the new fall season and and get us prepared to be “in the game”! Bring the whole family and enjoy tailgating finger food in the atrium at 5pm before worship time at 6pm in Wesley Hall.
