Nickie was four years old when she stood up in church one Sunday to sing “Jesus Loves Me.” She sang it like this, “Jesus wuvs me this I know, for da bible tells me so. Jesus wuvs me.” Then she stopped and threw her arms up in the air and said, “And dats dat.” She was right on target don’t you think? Jesus loves me and dats dat. What else do you need to know? We complicate faith matters so much. It’s simple, Jesus loves you. When you are at your worst or at your best, Jesus loves you. Whether you are living on the mountain of joy or settled in the valley of despair, Jesus loves you. Whether you deserve to be loved or not, Jesus loves you. His love is not conditional. You do not have to be good enough; you cannot earn it. It’s called, Grace Love. It is undeserved, unconditional, sacrificial and never ending. When you experience that kind of love in a world where most love is conditional and performance based, it can set you free. When you are loved like that, you will go and love others the same way. You will be amazed at what happens to everyone around you when people love each other like Jesus loves them. Root yourself deep in the love of Jesus. Remember, Jesus loves you and dats dat.
