Life knocks everybody off their feet every now and then. In the Bible, getting knocked off his feet and having the winds taken out of his sails was almost a daily occurrence for a man we know as Paul. But Paul learned how to deal with those wit’s end moments of life. He wrote, “We look not for things that are seen, but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
Beyond the possessions we own, the situations that we encounter, the hardships we confront, and the stresses we endure, stands God with peace, power, presence, and purpose. When you nurture a deep faith in God through a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ, no matter how hard life gets, you know that the things that you can see are just temporary. When you belong to God you belong to that which is eternal. Beyond the suffering, the pain, the frustration and misery, there is God. There is a future. The physical passes, but the spiritual will remain. Beyond the problems that you can see, there is a peace, a power, a presence, and a purpose for your life. There is God, and God is for you.
