Read Philippians 2:5
We are called to be like Jesus, and Jesus was meek. But Jesus did get angry–
He called the Pharisees vipers and overturned the tables of the vendors in the temple. He sat before the most powerful men in Israel and didn’t cower. However, when personally insulted he did not answer back, and when struck he did not strike back. He did not allow anger to be driven by his own ego. Meekness means getting angry the way Jesus did: motivated by what motivated Jesus, hating what He hated, loving what He loved, rather than using anger to get our own way.

Jesus’ meekness is available to all of us, but only through the power of the Holy Spirit. You can’t will yourself meek, but the Holy Spirit can give you the same spirit that was in Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit for Christ’s eyes and heart and mind, then allow Him to create in you the meek spirit of Christ.
How does your anger differ from Christ’s anger?
