“Know Your Role & Shut Your Mouth”
October 6, 2015
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
In the late 90’s I was a big wrestling fan… I know, I know, please don’t judge me. Every Monday night my friends and I would gather someplace to watch WWE Raw. My favorite wrestler at the time was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Rock had a catch phrase that I loved, and I still think about daily, “Know your role, and shut your mouth!” Every day I see people, myself included, complaining about what is asked of them or what their role is in their place of business or the world as a whole. The Bible says in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” In your life you will be asked to do things you don’t want to do, or be in a position that you do not think you should be in. Make sure you know your role, don’t grumble and complain about it, and do what is asked of you as if you are working directly for the Lord. God has placed you in the position you are in for a specific reason that only He knows. Trust in Him and do your best, no matter how mundane you think it is. God placed you there to do His work and not your own. So, know your role and shut your mouth… pretty please. 😉
