Yogi Berra Sayings
October 1, 2015
Matthew 5:3-10
Yogi Berra, the baseball great, died last week. Besides being an outstanding catcher and manager, Yogi was known for his unique sayings. He had a way of getting his words all mixed up. “If you see a fork in the road, take it.” “You can observe a lot by watching.” “It’s like deja vu all over again.” “Baseball is 90% mental and the other half is physical.” “It ain’t over til it’s over.” The sayings of Yogi are cute but they are not life-changing. There is a series of sayings that Jesus spoke called the Beatitudes that are life-changing. They are found in Matthew 5:3-10. I want to invite you today to take the time to open your Bible and ponder the Beatitudes. Jesus says you will be blessed if you put His words and saying into action. So whatever you are doing right now as you read this, open your Bible, read the Beatitudes, put them into practice. They can be life-changing for
you.
