Laura is in full wedding mode. Thanks to Betty Overton, after trying on more than a thousand wedding dresses, she has a dress. After looking at ten thousand bridesmaids dresses, the bridesmaids have dresses. Each day seems to be a new “discussion.” Please note, these are not “How’s the weather?” discussions. These are back and forth decisions, as if the weight of the world depends upon whether we have the envelopes addresses by a hired calligrapher or do them ourselves, whether we have pink roses or blush roses? Where did it all get so complicated? Where did we forget that our parents and grandparents got married in the parlor with only a cake, a few nuts, and a preacher? If you boil it all down, you only need a bride and groom and a preacher to get married. We make our daily “walking with Christ” just as complicated when we start “adding” on to Christianity. True Christianity is realizing how much Jesus loves you – enough to die for you. True Christianity is loving Jesus with all our heart, enough to give your life to Him. True Christianity is walking through life being loved and loving you Lord. It isn’t complicated.
