READ: LUKE 1: 34-38
When William Booth was asked why he started the Salvation Army, he said, “I’ll tell you a secret. God has had all there was of me. There have been people with greater brains than I have and with greater opportunities. But from the day I got the poor of London on my heart and caught a vision of what Jesus Christ could do with me and them, on that day I made up my mind that God should have all of William Booth that there was.” That is exactly what Mary said. “My life belongs to you, Lord. You take my life and You do whatever You choose and whatever You wish, and I will follow. You lead the way.”
I wonder if you have come to a place in your life where you are ready to say that as well. Maybe you are a physician, a banker, a truck driver, a homemaker—it doesn’t matter. Maybe you are ready to say, “Hey God, my life is not mine to do with as I please. My life belongs to You. Whatever You want me to do, wherever You want me to go, I am willing to obey.” That would be the most important decision of your life. Let God have all of you there is.
