A team of 14 Frazer members traveled to Cuba recently. Our church has a great partnership with Pastor Javier and the Methodist Church in Guanabocoa. Our team served in a variety of ways during the week. Several of our team members led marriage workshops and even taught several Cuban couples how to do the training in their own local churches. We held a seminar on servant leadership and Every Member in Ministry. Several of us had the opportunity to preach in churches and pray for the sick. We saw the renovations on their new sanctuary that Frazer is helping to build. We hope the new sanctuary will be completed and ready by the end of next year. We had morning devotions with the kitchen and office staff at the Methodist Center using the Upper Room devotionals that are now translated into Spanish. We visited some of the Mission Churches and led Bible studies and games with the children. Perhaps our biggest accomplishment was delivering over 20 bags of resources to the Cuban church. I think we loaded and unloaded these bags over 10 times in the process of getting to Cuba. By God’s grace, every bag made it!
We met some incredible people along the way including a pastor who served churches in Cuba for 55 years. He chose to stay in Cuba even after the communist revolution and spent two years in jail because of his faith. However, due to the courage of him and many other pastors, the church is growing rapidly. We also met other pastors, who have given everything to start mission churches in order to reach people living in rural areas.
All in all, it was a great trip. Our bodies are tired, but our hearts are full. The team wishes to thank…
Jan Niel and the meaningful commissioning service the church gave us before we left.
Alex Ansley for transporting us to and from the airport.
Pastor Javier and his family for being such incredible hosts.
Our great translators who bridged the communication gap for us during the trip.
Every Frazer member who supported our team through their prayers and their gifts.
Most importantly, we are thankful for God for allowing us serve in His kingdom and for his continued provisions during the trip.
