I recently had the joy of seeing the new Disney Pixar movie “Inside Out.” It’s an animated film for kids, but truly the parents probably get more out of it as it paints a great depiction of what our emotions are really doing inside of us. The 5 main emotions of Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger were so cleverly portrayed trying to drive the dashboard of the 11-year old’s life. Joy was the main controller of the dashboard, and when she wasn’t in charge, the other emotions were all out of whack. As amused as I was with this cute film, I had to ask myself, “What is mainly driving the dashboard of my life?” God has crafted us with emotions to help us in this life, and He wants us to be joyful always even when life is hectic and people may be letting us down. People always want to know what God’s will is for their lives, and it’s plain and simple right there in His Word, “Be joyful ALWAYS and be thankful in all circumstances!” If we are in constant communication with Him, how could we not be joyful? We get to talk to the Creator of everything, and He wants to hear from us! That fills me with extreme joy knowing He loves me and wants to have a relationship with me! Pray to find joy in everything you encounter today, and let joy drive the dashboard of your life! thursday – Cami Culpepper, Children’s Minister
