“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13
With three grandbabies coming, Virginia is on a hunt for two baby beds. She assures me that we need two. I recommended that the twins bunk together when they visit Pops, and she just rolled her eyes. So Virginia has started going to estate sales. She has started following Betty Whatley around from house to house where people have passed away or who are moving into assisted living. I laugh. “Old people don’t have baby beds,” I say. I suggest putting a note on the back of the tugboat in the Atrium where all the nursery parents would see it. She keeps going to old peoples’ house, climbing in attics that have gathered dust for years. I suggest we asked someone with a nursery. I truly think Virginia needs to change how she is looking. God has told us how to find Him. It requires searching with the right tool- the heart. Too many Christians read their Bibles and religious books and wonder why they don’t feel a connection with the Holy Spirit. The Bible is to be read for the purpose of relationally communicating with God. If you read it for information, you won’t find God. You will find information. You will accumulate data about God, but you won’t encounter God Himself. You must engage the heart. You must search with your heart. You must start in the right place with the right tool – your heart. And God promises, if you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him.
