“You show that you are a letter from Christ…written not in ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.” – II Corinthians 3:3
My father died eight years ago, and I have one letter my daddy wrote to me. This letter is special because, while I knew my daddy loved me, daddy didn’t write down or speak his deepest feelings easily. My daddy didn’t say the words “I love you” very often, but at the bottom of the letter he signed it, “I love you, Daddy.” Did you know that God writes letters? While the Bible is one beautiful long love letter to His children, it wasn’t God’s last letter to the world. Christ is still writing letters. The Bible says that Christians are living letters. Christians are love letters to the world written not in ink but by the Holy Spirit, written on the heart. Each child of God is a letter from God to the world, and our story is to be read. We were created to be living letters from God to others. And while the Bible is God’s individual love letter to you and me as Christians, He wanted to write His love letter through us to the world. The world will know about God’s amazing love in how they see those who are followers of Christ love one another. What kind of letter is your life writing to the world?
