Jesus said, “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” – Matthew 4:19
Last winter a West Virginia University student was visiting in Washington D.C. on a snowy day, and before she stopped to drive back to Morgantown, she stopped to shop at a mall. When she came out of the mall at closing time, it was snowing so hard that visibility was just above zero. She turned on the radio and heard an advisory warning people to stay off the roads, but she needed to get back to school so she started out in the blinding snow. She spotted a snow plow and fell in behind it figuring she would just follow the taillights of the plow. She followed for about 45 minutes; when it turned, she turned. She could see nothing but the red taillights in front of her. It was tough slow ride, but at least she had a clear path to follow. Suddenly, the plow stopped and the driver got out and walked to her car and asked, “Where are you going? You have been following me for about an hour.” She said, “I am going to Morgantown.” He said, “Well, you will never get there by following me. I am plowing out the mall parking lot.” We best be careful who and what we follow. If you follow the wrong stuff, you will end up getting lost. God’s got a beautiful plan for your life, but the only way you’ll be able to get there is if you keep your eyes on Jesus.
