Welcome to Frazer’s weekly feature called the Breaking Good News! Here you’ll find how your tithing and service is touching and changing lives everyday through our ministries and programs.
Transformation Montgomery
A special end of the year party put smiles on a lot of faces in Montgomery! Students from Chisholm Elementary were treated to games and inflatables, while the school’s PTO provided lunch for the volunteers. Frazer members Ty Taylor, Jacque Lunsford, Alyssa Boyd, and Debbie Peavy helped with the inflatable obstacle coarse which was sponsored by Transformation Montgomery. A lot of special relationships are forming through this life-transforming ministry.
Children’s Ministry
Sunday School teachers Camilla Gibson and Siggi Farris held a special time of praying over each child in their kindergarten Sunday School class. Camilla used anointing oil from her trip a few months back to Israel. She said the oil came from Jerusalem and is called Queen Esther anointing oil. As the class studied Esther, their teachers combined this prayer time with the lesson. Camilla says she prays regularly for her class and added this: “I know the children in this class are going to be firm and rooted in the word of God and are going to rise up and do some very amazing things for The Lord. They are a very, very unique group.”
Military Outreach and Frazer Nursery
Frazer member Mike Conn offers marriage enrichment classes for military personnel and their spouses, and he’s thankful the Frazer Nursery is always there to provide childcare and make these families, who are here for a short time on assignment, feel at home. Mike says, “Thanks again to all the Frazer Family for the love and support shown to the military couples who have given so much to keep us free.” Some of our nursery workers said, “We enjoyed this time with the children and did arts and craft and fun times on the playground. These families are always so thankful for Frazer providing a place to have a Bible Study and a place for their children to go.”
SPIRIT-Older Adult Ministry
Frazer UMC’s Spirit Ministry took a bus load of people to New Orleans for a Memorial Day weekend trip filled with tours and special memories. Many said it was particularly moving to tour the World War II Museum with people like Frazer member and World War II Veteran Howard Wilkins. Their trip included a tour of the city, visits to several museums and lots of good food.
Frazer Family Fellowship
Several members of our Frazer Staff and Family enjoyed a “suite” night at Riverwalk Stadium. Someone graciously donated their suite for a night of watching the Biscuits, so Senior Pastor Tim Thompson offered it to the staff on a first-come, first-serve basis! Those who attended said they had a blast eating, watching the game and enjoying each others’ company outside of work!
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
