It is the greatest gift. Love. How do we know love, real love? Most of the time we don’t really know. It’s not something we can see or touch. We just feel it. Oh, but when we do feel it, we know what it is. Think about the first time you recall feeling loved by a parent, a spouse, or a friend. There was no greater gift than to experience the feeling of being loved by someone else. How do we know love? Paul’s words in today’s passage describe for us what love really is. But how is Paul able to describe love so eloquently? Paul knows the source of love. He has experienced the amazing love of God through Jesus Christ. Paul feels it. It’s the greatest gift of Christmas! Love came down. Many people will celebrate Christmas, but will miss the greatest gift of real love. How do you know God’s love? You have to experience it for yourself. God provided a way, and it happened on Christmas Day.
