READ: Psalm 138
We have a closet in our house with stacks of unfinished oil paintings. They have been there for years. Virginia starts a painting, works on it for weeks, sometimes months. Then one day she stops. She lets it sit for a while, and then it is put in the closet with the other unfinished canvases. If I ask why, she tells me she gets frustrated, becomes dissatisfied with her lack of skill or the design that was begun. So the unfinished painting gets put into the closet.
God doesn’t leave any of His children unfinished. The God who created us knows the purpose He has for my life and yours. Psalm 138:8 says, “God will fulfill His purpose for you and me.” The God who chose us, called us, saved us, and began the work of transforming you and me into the likeness of Christ, will complete His purpose. God doesn’t tell us that we must work hard in service for Him. God doesn’t even tell us that we must figure out what our purpose is. Our task is to abide in Christ, knowing that the Holy Spirit who lives in you and me, will join with our surrendered life and fulfill His purpose.

No God doesn’t leave things unfinished. We are all a work in progress.
