READ: Psalm 96
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. (vs 1) Today is a new day. The sun comes up. Your heart is beating. Your lungs are inhaling and exhaling. Your mind is thinking. Yes, today is a new day. Scripture says, “Sing to the Lord a new song.” If we are supposed to sing a new song, then we must have the capacity to create it. The Creator God, who brought about a new day, who put your heart to beating, your lungs to breathing, and your mind to thinking has given you the power to create new things. Scripture tells us we were created in the image of God, thus given the ability to create in ways similar to our Creator. So when the psalmist writes, “Sing to the Lord a new song,” he understands that we have the creative power to bring new things into being. New songs. New relationships. New dreams. New worship. Has your worship of God become stale? Is it time to try something new?
Prayer Thought: Read Psalm 96 and add it to your PrayList. Pray this morning for God to reveal new ways to experience the goodness of God. Sing a new song of faith!
