Today we also spent a lot of time with Marli, the president of the Orphanage. She cooked us lunch and we fellowshiped with her and laughed. Its so awesome how God breaks down language barriers with the Holy Spirit so that we can communicate with each other. That afternoon Marli had fixed us a snack of sweet bread and coffee. Our interpreter Dulce arrived and the fellowship continued. We spent a lot of time asking Marli about the children at the orphanage and we asked about some that weren’t there anymore. To hear some of the stories that these kids here have is absolutely amazing that they have survived as long as they have. It is definitely heartbreaking to say the least.
These kids here are no different than any other kids all over the world. They deserved to be loved and cherished like every child should be treated. These kids here have seen more things in their short lives that we as adults haven’t seen in ours. You know we get asked a lot as missionaries why go do what we do and why can’t we do what we do at home. God calls everyone to do something to serve Him in some form of service. We are in Brazil because God placed us here and we listened to His calling.
Matthew 28:18-19. “18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This verse is the basis of a lot of churches to go out on mission trips. God wants us to tell about His Love to everyone no matter where they may be around this world. For a true orphan to learn that they don’t have to search for someone here on this earth to fill the void left by their parents not being in there life, that is truly amazing for them to learn that and accept Jesus Christ into their heart and take that and grow in Him and start to spread God’s word to other people around him that have almost the same story as him. We all have a testimony, a story to tell that someone somewhere needs to hear about so they know and understand how God’s Love works. Our God is amazing and He does amazing things to all of us. All of us who seek after Him and submit to Him and His Will.
We would ask all of you that are reading this to not only pray for us as a team but most importantly pray for these kids at the orphanage that they can seek after God’s love and move past the tough lives that they have had and grow in the Lord. We would also ask for you to pray for Marli, the orphanage president and the other orphanage parents there that they can continue to share God’s Love with these kids and that when they are frustrated and at whits end that they can also seek after God and get His peace and guidance to continue to provide love and a life for these kids.
Thank you for your continous prayers and God Bless
Brad
