The first chapter of Genesis is such a lovely tribute to the wonder and the grandeur of the world and the creative ability of God. The last verse of the creation story, verse 31, says, ‘God saw everything that He had made, and it was very good.” Life was created basically and essentially good. That means we live in a world created by God that is overflowing with the possibilities and potentials for goodness. God’s goodness is greater than life’s tragedies.
For example, roses are amazing. Isn’t it a moment of wonder to see a beautiful rose growing at the top of a long stem of thorns? Roses are a reminder to me that, because of the way in which God created the world, and because of the way He has created you and me, and because of what He has planted within each of us, there is always the possibility of roses even in the midst of thorns.
This is a beautiful world that God created, and it is good. Focus your life on the affirmation that we live in a world created by God that is overwhelmed with possibilities and potential for goodness in the midst of all things. Don’t focus on the bad; focus on the good that is around you. Ask for God to give you eyes with which to see His goodness in your midst.
