Walking through the Atlanta airport anytime day or night; Sitting in a football stadium on a Saturday afternoon in November; Singing at a concert with your friends on a Friday night; Driving your car down the interstate with all your windows rolled down; Volunteering in the nursery during the 11AM worship service: What do all these moments have in common? Noise and lots of it!
That is what Elijah had experienced so many times in his life – the noise of the world around him. Today we are reminded of the way God chooses to communicate with us. A still, small voice. This quiet, unassuming voice is always present, but the noise of the world crowds out the voice of God.
Ever wonder why you can’t seem to hear God? Check the noise in your life. You may be thinking, “Why won’t God just talk louder?” And God may be saying, “Why don’t you just listen a little harder? I’m already there.”
