Sure & Secure
October 15, 2015
Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Greg Groeschel wrote, “When it comes to asking people if they are right with God and if they are going to heaven, you find people in four different places. Some people are secure but unsure. They believe they are followers of Christ, but they don’t have the peace and assurance. They have done some bad stuff, and they are not sure God will forgive them. Some people are sure but not secure. They believe in religion, in God, in heaven, but they are not secure with God, wondering if they have done enough to get to heaven. Others are not sure and not secure. They are wishy-washy about God and religion and Jesus. They will say, ‘I don’t know, have no clue, not sure if it matters, not sure if I believe in the afterlife, kind of sort of believe something maybe.’ Then there are others who are secure and sure. They know they are right with God, and they have a great sense of peace and assurance and a confident hope that their past is forgiven and that their future is guaranteed with the Father in heaven.” Where are you in your life right now? To become secure and sure involves throwing yourself simply on the beautiful and wonderful grace and mercy of God and inviting Jesus into your heart. “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” You can be sure and secure.
