John 13:34-35 – Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
Recently someone who did not have enough to do did a study on sneezing. He argued that how we sneezed reflects our underlying personality. Folks who have a sneeze that would wake the dead generally come from a person with an outgoing personality, who is lid and demonstrative. People who have a dainty mousey little sneeze are generally more shy and introverted. I don’t know more about that, but I do know we all have our individual and distinct sneezing styles. I wonder about the personality of a person who would spend his life studying sneezing. Who would want to be a sneezing researcher? Perhaps it is true that we are known by our sneezes, but I hope we are known by something other than our sneezing styles. As Christians God calls us to be known by how we love each other. Jesus set the example for us. He was known by His extravagant love for the broken, the battered, the bruised, the least, the last and the lost. Jesus left us a message. It simply said to love each other. How we sneeze may tell others about our personality, but how we love will tell others about the heart of God. When you boil it all down, life is about this one thing, loving and being loved.
