“Straight paths” does not mean that God will make you healthy or wealthy. It does not mean God will make you popular, comfortable, or thin. It does not mean that nothing hard, bad, tragic or difficult will ever happen to you. It does not mean you will always get what you want.
What it does mean is that God will give your life direction, purpose, focus and fulfillment. He will guide you around the swamps and ditches and keep you out of messes so you can stay on the right path. He will lead you over, around, or under the obstacles that get in your way. He will lead down a road to the best life possible. And when you die, he will lead you straight through the gates of heaven. He will lead you to that life that you do not want to miss.
I don’t know what God has in store on your path. But I know that he has a life you don’t want to miss. So trust God with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.
