Do you have a plan for today? What about for tomorrow? Do you have a schedule, an agenda, a calendar? Places to go, people to see? Of course you do. We all do. In fact, many of us are overscheduled and overcommitted. Now, do you think God has a plan? Does it include your life–your today, your tomorrow? Of course He does. So the real question is: How do we make our plan God’s plan? Or rather, how do we make God’s plan our plan?
Simply put: plan your surrender. Get out your white flag and wave it for God while yelling, “I surrender!” Wouldn’t you agree that your plan pales in comparison to God’s plan? So, surrender is not failure, it’s an upgrade. Jesus reminds us that those who lose their life will find it.
So plan your surrender by surrendering your plan. Prayerfully give God control of your calendar, your agenda, your schedule. Write them in pencil, aware that He may send “divine interruptions.” Take up your cross and follow him daily. Then watch how God’s purpose for your life will unfold when you move your plan out of the way.
