“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” I read a sign recently that said, “If you are too busy to pray, then you are probably busier than God wants you to be.” As a young, working mom, I often feel that I am “too busy.” Too busy to cook, too busy to send my husband a sweet text message, too busy to go to lunch with a friend who is hurting, too busy to read all of this week’s Bible study, too busy to let my baby girl fill my lap with every single stuffed animal she owns. However, What am I too busy doing, and is it having an eternal impact in the way these other things would? Even though I don’t get it right a lot of the time and continue to battle with the “too busy” mind set, the Holy Spirit is at work within me convicting me of when I get too wrapped up in my earthly to do list and forget about checking off the jobs on my eternal to do list. I want to be a young, working mom that looks different from the rest because I am a young, working CHRISTIAN mom. Let’s encourage and challenge each other to constantly look for ways to go to the cross to get our rest, so that we can make sure that we have plenty of time getting our eternal to do list done!
