When my daddy got word that he had cancer and the doctor began to explain the various treatment options to him, my father interrupted him and said, “Before you go on, there is something you need to know. I’m not trying to be heroic or anything, but I’m 84 years old. I’ve had a great life. God has blessed me more than I deserve. I want you to know I’m not afraid to die. Now, knowing all that, I want you to tell me what treatment plan you think I should follow.” The doctor sat there for a minute and said, “I wish all my patients had an attitude like that. In fact,” he said, “I wish I had a faith like that.” My father had a mountain-moving faith. Have you ever envied the faith of someone else and said, “I wish I had a stronger faith, a faith like that?” Well, Jesus says you can have a strong and powerful faith, a faith so strong it can move mountains. It is available to everyone. We need a faith that will be strong enough to see us through the bad times. Let your prayer today be this, “Lord, increase my faith.” Remember, Jesus said, “If you just have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to a mountain, ‘Move,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” You can have a mountain-moving faith. Just ask for it! “Lord, increase my faith.”
