Never is a long time. People use the word ‘never’ a lot. “I will never change.” “They will never change.” “That can never be done.” “I would never do that.” “I will never get over this.” “I’ll never forgive them.” “They will never amount to anything.” “It will never get better.” I know people who have ‘nevered’ themselves unto a state of hopelessness and despair.
Remember, never is a long time. You may be facing some problems so large that you think they will never be resolved. You may think that your hurt is so deep it will never be healed. You may think that your marriage or your family situation will never get any better. But never is a long time. Remember God is a God who’s in the business of reversing the irreversible, of changing the unchangeable, and of making possible the impossible. If God can raise a man from the dead, He can raise you above the ‘nevers’ of your life.
