The UMVIM team from Frazer UMC is working at the Pilon, Cuba United Methodist Church with about 10 local stone and brick masons. We are polishing local marmol stone for the church altar and sifting sand to be used for mortar.
We are staying at the home of the local pastor, Alcibiades Negret Castro, and his family.
The pastor’s wife, Yoli, and a group of local women are providing us with wonderful meals.
Our interpreter works with us polishing stone and acquainting us with local customs.
We attended services twice Sunday. Sunday night Gary Cochran delivered a sermon and our group offered two songs –joined by the church band. The songs and the sermon were met with joy by the congregation.
The church is beautiful and in enthusiastic use as construction continues. We will post photos when we return. We expect to go to Havana Saturday and attend services in the city before flying home Monday.
Thank you for your prayers.

Praying for your team as you continue construction on the church for the people of Pilon. May hearts be blessed both for the people and for your team. May hearts that don’t know Jesus see Him for the very first time and be forever changed by His wonderful love.
God bless you all with your service to Him through loving your fellowman.
Love, Ava
