We had an interesting arrival at the airport in Havana yesterday. One of our truthful team members responded with a resounding ¨YES!¨ when asked if she had been to Texas recently. All of a sudden a large contingent of airport officials descended upon her with questions and a thermometer! It was not on our radar screen that they were concerned about Ebola! After several minutes they did release the team member and her husband. All´s well that ends well.
Today we are at the Guanabacoa Methodist Church. The men have just finished installing a ceiling fan in the pastor´s apartment above the church. They managed not to electrocute themselves! There is no OSHA in Cuba. They were working the whole time with hot wires. The women are downstairs working on arts and crafts. This afternoon we will have women´s and men´s Bible studies.
The BEST NEWS is the sanctuary!!! They have made amazing progress since the last time we were here. It is beginning to look like a church now. The process is so difficult because even if you have the money supplies are limited and hard to find. The labor is mainly volunteer.
