Virginia wrote these words about her relationship with her mother, “If I want to make my momma happy I only need to do one thing- spend time with her. It does not matter what we do. My momma is happy when I slow down long enough to just spend time with her. I don’t sit and say ‘I love you’ a hundred times. I say it once and I really mean it. Then we are just together talking about life and kids stuff. I can be cooking with momma, hemming a pair of pants, or working a jigsaw puzzle with her. She doesn’t care what we are doing. What she cares about is that I am there, and we are together. You think God is any different? He desires our time. Slow down, spend time with God everyday, not because you want something, but just to let Him know you love Him. Time spent with God is never wasted. It’s blessed time.” She is right. The gift of time and presence are priceless. One of the greatest criticisms you can ever give is, “You were never there for me.” One of the greatest compliments is “You were always there for me.” Great relationships need time and presence. God gives us the gift of His presence through His Holy Spirit every moment of our life. God always has time for you. Time spent with God, people you love and serving others is blessed time. May your day be filled with blessed time.
