I received this letter one day. “Dear Tim, Help! I am worn out. I can’t do it all anymore. The most dominant feeling in my life is not joy, peace, or hope. The only feeling I have is tired, just tired. Everywhere I turn there is always something – stuff to do at home, stuff at work, stuff with children, stuff with marriage, stuff with aging parents, stuff with health, church stuff, friend stuff. I feel like I am being stuffed to death. I am so tired. What do I do?” I think we all know that feeling. We all have ‘stuff.’ Sometimes the stresses and pressures of everyday life wear you down, and you lose your joy, hope and peace. There is good news for you today: God has a place of peace and joy and serenity for you beyond the stresses of everyday life. Go back and read today’s verses. God will not grow tired or wear out. He will give strength to those of us who are weary and weak. God never gets tired, and God wants to give you that same power when you are worn out. We wear out and live tired and stressed lives because we were never meant to live lives simply by our own strength. It is not enough. When we stay plugged in to God, He shares His power with us, and we get renewed, we soar, we run, we walk, and we don’t give out—even with all our “stuff.”
