Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”
God indeed directed our path all the way to Cuba. The team arrived safely, all bags arrived intact. Praise the Lord! Thanks for your prayers.
We were met Monday at the Havana International Airport by Pastor Javier, his wife Anna and their niece, Daimara, who is translating for us. Our driver, Alexander, helped us quickly load the bus with our many, many bags and we set off for the Methodist Center where the bags were unloaded–not as quickly. We were treated to lunch at Pastor Javier’s favorite restaurant–what a feast! The rest of the day included informative tours of the Guanabacoa church and the seminary before returning to the Methodist Center for dinner. After dinner, we sorted through all the bags, separating and labeling them by category and intended use.
Today was a day of ministry to the women of the church and the work crew who were helped by our men. Our women taught a craft and taught two lessons on the importance of developing strong, personal relationships first with God, then with others. There were lots of smiles, hugs and verbal “Amens” in response.
Our men shared a devotional as they took a break from their labor toward finishing a roof on the new santuary that is under construction. Praise God, the congregation outgrew their sanctuary and Frazer is helping them expand to accommodate their more than 500 members in a single church service. They plan to complete the roof sometime next month. We were thrilled with the positive response from the workers–all Christians–to the devotional. They all participated. What a blessing!
Before leaving the church, Pastor Javier and Anna planned a surprise birthday party for John Brantner with delicious cake and drinks. What a fun way to end the workday.
Continue to pray for our health and safety, God’s purpose to be accomplished, and hearts to be won for His Kingdom.
What a great use of resources as well as the blend of ministry to projects! This is what I believe Dr. Tim and Pastor Patrick mean by more Jesus and less me! Can’t wait to hear more from Brent, Mike, and the rest of the Cuba Team to see just how powerful God works!
