I know that the Wesley Foundation’s student leaders will never forget their experience, however, they endeavor that we as Christians continue to strive for full cultural liberation and total inclusion of our Haitian brothers and sisters into the modern universal economic ladder. We desire that the invisible lines of race, gender, religious marginalization and class inferiority, even in the Christian context, are diminished and replaced with a true desire to win not only souls, but a place in the lives and hearts of our Haitian family. We desire that they are able to not only hold jobs, but are empowered to matriculate to areas of management and eventually ownership so that they can compete in today’s industrial market. We desire to extend our experience with the students, staff and faculty of Alabama State University and local churches to demystify myths and stereotypes that continue to separate people of color and fellow believers, and offer an experience of a lifetime that truly allows us to celebrate our love for this glorious country.
