Recently I traveled to Haiti with our partners from Hands and Feet. I went there for two reasons: to bring Christmas presents to some of our Frazer supported mission families and to check the status of the Mission Guest Village. Frazer is one of the major financial supporters for this project. It was great seeing the progress and if all goes well the Mission Guest Village will be completed by the end of 2017. The building is already functional in terms of housing mission teams and providing space for Haiti Made and one of the mission families. For those who may not know, here are the main goals behind the Mission Guest Village:
- Provide jobs and dignity for Haitian brothers and sisters.
- Host thousands of individuals, groups, and families and provide a life changing mission trip experience.
- Reframe the U.S. perception of Haiti from a desperate nation that requires charity, to a dignified and beautiful country that deserves our consideration as a viable Caribbean destination.
Hands and Feet with the support of Frazer cares for over 100 orphaned and abandoned children and is now hoping to keep families together (orphan prevention) through job creation initiatives like the Mission Guest Village and Haiti Made. I am very thankful for Frazer’s partnership with Hands and Feet and I look forward to seeing how God works in this beautiful country over the next several years!
