Everybody needs a Mordecai. Mordecai was Esther’s guardian and spiritual mentor. He was good, faithful, courageous, and wise. He stood up against corruption and evil, and he was rewarded for his courageous leadership. He spent his life working for the good of others. What a great way to live your life.
Perhaps Mordecai’s greatest good was that he spiritually guided Esther. He was spiritually wise, and he helped Esther discover what she was called to do for God.
Do you have a Mordecai in your life? Who is that spiritually wise person who knows you, who loves you, who helps you discern God’s voice? Who is that person who loves you enough to hold you accountable and to challenge you to become the person God created you to be?
If you don’t have a Mordecai, start praying and asking God to put a spiritual mentor into your life. One of the best ways to find a Mordecai is to get involved in a small group – a Sunday school class, a Bible study, or a home group. Everybody needs a Mordecai.
