Nehemiah: 8:13-17
When the people of Israel began to hear God’s word, they immediately realized that they had not been keeping one of the special holy celebrations that God’s word had commanded that they honor. It was called the Feast of Tabernacles. This celebration was a remembering of who God was and how God had provided for them through the years.

It was called the Feast of Tabernacles. This celebration was a remembering of who God was and how God had provided for them through the years.
Immediately they began to obey God’s word by following the instructions for celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. Listen to the result of their obedience: Verse 17 says, “They were filled with great joy.” Joy, happiness, and peace within your soul is the result of knowing and being obedient to God’s word. God always blesses obedience.
Maybe you have struggled with witnessing or tithing or some other teaching of the Lord. Remember, even if it is hard, just be obedient. The joy that comes when you set aside your will and way and do life according to God’s will and way is so wonderful. You’ll find the best that God has for you when you become obedient to God’s word.
