It has been said that our lives are not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away. We are fearfully and wonderfully made to join God in this grand adventure called life. But along the journey of life as we get older, our goal in life tends to become to be comfortable. Our number one goal becomes to play it safe, to lower our risks, to be comfortable. Yet God has never called us to be comfortable. There is nothing in the Bible that says God’s plan and God’s goal for our life is to be comfortable.
God is always calling us to a life of adventure, of boldness. He has more waiting for us than we can ever imagine. As The Message version translates Jesus’ words in today’s scripture, “I have come so you can have real and eternal life more and better life than you ever dreamed of.”
Try something new. Volunteer for something you’ve never done before. Go to a class where you can learn about something you don’t know much about. Take a risk from God. Step out into a new adventure. No matter your age, whether you are young or old or in between, God still has great plans for you.
