What is the real meaning of Easter? Let’s don’t dance around it. Easter is not about spring, bulbs, or cocoons. Easter is not about new dresses or a full church. Easter is not about bunnies, baskets, eggs, and goodies.
Easter is about life and death. Death has been defeated by Jesus. Death is no longer our chief enemy. And those who belong to Jesus will beat death, too. Christ is the conqueror of death.
Easter doesn’t say that people do not die. Easter doesn’t deny death. The reality is that death has a mean grab, but, because of Easter, we can know that death has a weak grip. It cannot hold those who belong to Jesus. Easter declares that life, not death, has the final say. Death has a mean grab, but a weak grip.
» Spend some time thanking God today that Jesus has conquered death.
