Missions
Two ministry teams are serving on mission trips to Kenya and Haiti this week. In Haiti, a Frazer team is visiting the deaf community we partnered with after the devastating earthquake in 2010. You’ll recall Frazer members helped build an entire community of homes and our Christmas Eve offering alone built a church! The team will also work with the Hands and Feet Ministry, our newest partnership in Haiti, in helping to locate land where a missions village will be built, employing local workers.
Our team in Kenya will be working with Mescal’s Children’s Center of Hope. This is the Kenyan orphanage established by Frazer member Ruth Owuor for 30 orphans and several women rescued from abusive situations. Ruth returned to Kenya to oversee the ministry about 2 years ago. The Frazer team will be doing vacation bible school for the children in the orphanage and in a nearby village. The will also be ministering at a women’s conference, speaking and leading in worship. They ask for prayers as they meet with a contractor who will be building a new facility for the Children’s center.
Crave
Did you hear all the commotion in Crave this past Sunday? You should have! More than 250 students and adult volunteers packed-out the Crave room for a Fall Kick Off. The students got a peek into the 2014-2015 calendar for Crave and Youth Worship Arts and were offered advice on how to get plugged in to both programs. With activities such as Life Groups, Crave University, 9th grade Mystery Night, Senior Trip, Game Night, Blitz, Local Mission Outreach, Mission Trips, Covenant, Confirmation, YWA practice, Block Parties, Dinner Theater and Choir Tour, the students were shown there is a place for EVERYONE to get plugged in! Frazer Reaches Out to Iraq
With the atrocities in Iraq, as Christians are being persecuted, many of you have asked, “What can we do?” Frazer UMC is reaching out with a donation to organizations with people in the region who can offer aid and assistance. If you would like to make a gift above and beyond your tithe to the church, please designate that donation to the Disaster Relief Fund. Through your gifts, Frazer always stands ready to reach out to those in need.
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
