Update: Kim and John Ed won the contest with their Succotash Steak and Grits!
On May 10th, Frazer’s Pastor Emeritus John Ed Mathison will team up with Kim Hendrix to compete in the Montgomery Cook-Off as part of the Second Saturday celebration downtown along the riverfront. The celebration with music and food begins at 10am, with the cooking competition following from 3pm-6pm. John Ed and Kim are up against 5 other teams, representing WSFA, Alabama News Network, The Ticket radio, and Kim Traff of RSVP magazine paired with ASU coach Reggie Barlow.
The format will be similar to TV cooking shows, where contestants are given a random basket of items and told to make a dish in a certain amount of time. Money raised from this event goes to the Hemophilia Association of Alabama.
The Frazer family encouraged to come out and watch as the madness in the “kitchen” unfolds!
John Ed Mathison serves as Pastor Emeritus, after retiring from a 36-year tenure as Frazer’s senior pastor. Kim Hendrix Skoneki is a long time Frazer member and ministry leader, and will join the Frazer staff on June 1 as Director of Media Ministries.
