Frazer Pike Road Launch
Frazer UMC launched its Pike Road site Sunday, February 7 to a packed house! Close to 600 people, adults and children, participated in Frazer Pike Road’s first 10am worship service and children’s ministry. The launch team of about 120 Frazer volunteers did an amazing job of transforming portions of the Pike Road School into a church for Sunday morning! This is the first phase of Frazer’s 5-10-20 Vision Plan—5 multi-sites, reaching 10,000 people for Christ by the year 2020. Invite a friend and stop in and visit one Sunday.
Frazer Student Ministry
The Frazer Student ministry team along with 60 volunteers are busy preparing for DNOW weekend. The luggage for close to 200 students is already sitting in their rooms, prayed over and ready for the youth to arrive Friday evening. Christian recording artist, The Digital Age, will lead the students in worship during this weekend’s DNOW 2016: TRIBE. The theme calls our youth to experience what it means to be “all in” for tribe Jesus. Please pray for the students and adult volunteers during this life-changing and renewing weekend.
Missions
Transformation Montgomery continues to help transform lives in the Garden Square community. A new Culinary Skills 101 class is being offered to people who have gone through the Getting Ahead program through Transformation Montgomery. Two Frazer members, Chef Mike Bright and Alan Peavy are teaching the hands on course, covering basic kitchen skills. During the class the students cook their dish and get to sample it that very night. The participant’s children enjoy a Bible Study and play time with Debbie Peavy while their parents discover new dishes the whole family can enjoy! The class is a 10 week session and their graduation “test” will be assisting in the preparation of the dinner for YWA’s Dinner Theater April 10th.
Monday’s Good News Club at Chisholm Elementary drew in a record crowd of 104 students and included a profession of faith! This has become a favorite offering through Transformation Montgomery. The Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers share an exciting Bible lesson filled with songs, scripture memory and games. If you would like to volunteer please contact Debbie Peavy at debbiep@frazerumc.org.
Several members of our disaster relief team started this new year reaching out to people in Elba. Many families lost everything in the devastating floods that hit Elba in late December. Frazer’s Men’s Life also sent volunteers and supplies to the Elba area.
This is just some of the Breaking Good News happening in our Frazer Family! Stay tuned for more details of how God is moving through Frazer UMC.
