Our Moldova Mission Team will be leaving on Monday, June 13th to travel to Chisinau and Cupcui. Our team members are: Brian and Kathryn Jones, Chris and Heather McInnish, and Patrick and Elizabeth Mullins. We will be working with Philip Cameron Ministries in Moldova.
Philip Cameron Ministries (PCM) has been working to share the love of Christ in Moldova for a number of years. Their initial efforts were focused on preventing children from falling victim to sex trafficking. They found that when orphans reached a certain age, they were forced out of their orphanage with no where to go, and many became victims of the human trafficking industry which plagues that part of the world. PCM set up a series of homes (called Stella’s House and Simon’s House) where these young people could live safely, enjoy the community of others who care for them, and learn a trade. More recently, PCM was given a previously state-run orphanage in the village of Cupcui, Moldova. PCM has completely renovated the orphanage (making it inhabitable) which now houses the orphans in that region.
Our team will be conducting a Bible School/Camp for the children who live at the orphanage. We will also be inviting children from the village of Cupcui. During our time in Moldova, we will also visit with and minister to the girls and boys of Stella’s and Simon’s Houses. Please keep these specific prayer requests in mind for our team:
- Safety: Health and traveling mercies for our team. (We leave the U.S. on Monday the 13th and return just before Midnight on Monday, June 20th).
- Communication: The children at the orphanage speak Romanian. Pray that we can communicate God’s love in real and meaningful ways.
- Spirit: That our hearts and minds remain open to the work HE has planned for us.
- The children: The children in Providence Orphanage and Stella’s and Simon’s Houses. Pray for these children specifically that they will feel HIS love through our team.
Thanks,
*Note-The photo above is the true mission of our team. A friend sent this card to me with a donation of toys for the children in the orphanage.
Katie, I love reading your blog this one was baetuiful! My church is doing a lot in Haiti with 410 Bridge right now but something made me think of you the other day our church is doing a Help Portrait trip to Haiti in November and you would be perfect for it. We have several photographers in our church who are going. Its a short trip just wanted you to know. Kathryn
