We visited several families in the Chadarack community and loved seeing their homes and getting to know them. The children were so loving and precious. We look forward to being with them tomorrow–the plan is after a very bumpy drive up the mountain, we will help with planting coffee trees which is a new industry to help this community. Also will be teaching couples how to strengthen their marriage, God’s way, while others in our group minister to the children.
We are seeing God here in Haiti. He is in the hearts of people in every village, but many don’t know Him. Hopefully, our drop in the bucket will multiply for Jesus here on this beautiful island.
A side note: As we were swimming in the ocean yesterday, Aimee cut her knee on some coral. She came out of the water with a bloody leg and we quickly realized she needed stitches to close the wound. Our friend and interpreter, Francky, found us a clinic nearby without delay and the nurse there had a sterile wound cleansing pack, a sterile suture pack, and gave us great care. The charge was only to cover the gloves and sterile wound pack–about $100 Haitian dollars, which is about $13 US dollars. Today she is walking with no problem and the wound and stitches look good and clean.
Please pray for us–challenges are the heat, but more importantly that we can do God’s will this week with the people we meet, that we can make a difference in their lives. Thanks! Hopefully more pics tomorrow. I’m having trouble downloading.
