We poured the concrete footings for the deck today, and we also finished installing the joist supports for the decking. Tomorrow we should be able to complete the leveling of the deck, and also nailing down the deck boards. We will have a completed 8′ x 16′ deck. It really is looking good and our team has workied hard to complete the project.
We also met the lady who will be living in this house late this afternoon. Her name is Pat Bryson. Please keep her in your prayers. She has never been able to own a house of her own in her life. She is so happy and appreciative of all that is being done for her. Thursday night, she will be our guest for a family night dinner here at The Hinton Center. We look forward to being with her and hearing more about her story.
Our team is bonding more and more each day. We have all shared stories about our lives that have been very difficult. We have prayed for one another and have had regular devotionals during the day. Tonight, Tina Bowlin had our evening devotional. It was based on Psalms 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
We will have a shorter work day tomorrow and will also have time to enjoy some of the sites around the Hayesville area. Please continue to pray for our teamj and also all of our loved ones back home. We are bleased to be here and to be a part of this program that reaches out to help so many in this area. Also, please keep the Hinton Rural Community Center, and all the staff people here in your prayers. they truly have a wonderful organization.
Blessings to all,
Ron, John, Tina, Connie, and Jimmy
As the new owner, she is required to put in so many work hours per week as part of her contract with USDA and the Hinton Center.
