On Friday, we went to the Children’s Home that houses up to 130 children and is one of the largest children’s homes in Florida. When we arrived, we were all were buddied up with a child to do arts and crafts with. The girl I was paired up with, Mariah, had to leave fifteen minutes after we got there. After she left I went over to the gimping station where all the older kids were. I wasn’t sure really how to gimp so I just began talking to a group of three girls: Ela, Shauna, and Hannah. As we were talking Ela (age 17) said to me, “My mom hates me and sent me away to live with my sister”.. which caused her to be placed in the children’s home. Moving on from that topic, we went to go make salvation bracelets. As we were making the bracelets the praise band began to play in the background. The girls all starting singing along with the praise band as loud as they could! Their singing made me realize that my problems are small and with the love of God any struggle will fade away!
